Are you still living for yourself? Shine your light! There are people depending on you to get them out of the darkness.
God has given you so much: He has showered you with grace and mercy, He has forgiven you of your sin… the list goes on. God pursues you even when you turn your back on him and towards the His creation. Because the Truth has been revealed to you and you know of God’s promises, you dream and believe that the best is yet to come. That hope in itself is a powerful gift. However, when you look around you notice that there are people who are giving up hope. People are broken. When Humpty Dumpty fell off the wall, did he put himself back together? No. Nor could the king’s horsemen. Poor Humpty was left broken. Fortunately for us, we have been called and EQUIPPED by the one true King– the King over all the Earth. Our King has called us to help restore hope; to rebuild our communities; to reach out to the broken and speak life into them; and to shine His light.
If you lift up your head, you will be able to see the need around you. Now, will you be bold for Christ? Will you pick up the tools He has given and unashamedly shine His light into the darkness?
“’You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.’” Matthew 5:13-16 ESV
“For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’” Acts 13:47 ESV
“We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves.” Romans 15:1 ESV
Shine on and have a great day💗
